More and more individuals decide to have plant-based meals due to various reasons. For some, it is part of their cultural, religious and moral beliefs. Others could be about making a personal choice to work towards a healthier lifestyle or it could be about keeping the individual's carbon footprint low. It would be best to opt for those that are minimally processed to decrease the carbon footprint.

An adequate amount of protein and consuming good quality protein-rich food is necessary to:

  • maintain muscles,

  • making new muscles,

  • help with exercise performance & to adapt to training.

  • heal damaged tissues & other injuries

  • help with immunity

  • promote satiety (i.e. feeling full for longer)

Well-distribute the protein-rich foods throughout the day. The body goes through a cycle of breakdown and building up of muscle protein (i.e. muscle protein synthesis) throughout the day.
